Who is Philippa Craddock the royal floral designer?
It wasn’t long ago that the entire world was captivated by the idea of two people getting married in a huge castle in England. Not just any wedding, The Royal Wedding not only captured the attention of the world, but also their hearts too.
Not only was it a historic moment, but the wedding itself was effortlessly stylish, beautifully designed and is sure to spawn a variety of “copycat weddings” in the future.
Plenty has been said about the different suppliers and designers that brought together this amazing celebration in the public eye, and one of those was Philippa Craddock.
But who was the royal wedding floral designer?
All about Philippa Craddock
Whilst many thought that perhaps Megan and Harry would opt for a smaller, independent florist to craft their flowers, it seems that they actually liked the idea of working with someone who is more of a big-brand florist then a small time one.
Philippa runs a flower stall, this is true, however, her particular base is within Selfridges and her client list is not only impressive, but also contains a number of larger brand names, working with them on for their events as well as working with some couples for weddings too.
If you take a look through previous clients then you will see instantly recognizable brands such as Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior and Hermes. Rather unsurprisingly, she also has previously worked with the Royal Family, having created floral installations for both Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace too.
What is her style?
If there is one thing that you will realize when you take a look at the Instagram page for Philippa, it is that she certainly doesn’t buy into the idea of being understated or muted in her designs. She freely admits that she loves to utilize the most unusual of spaces, which allows her to create rather impressive arrangements, such as floral ceilings.
The flowers that she uses are usually bold and in their number, which means that she will often share images of mantelpieces over flowing with stunning creations that not only embrace flowers, but also foliage and other additions too.
However, this doesn’t mean that she is over the top in what she creates, instead, somehow, she manages to create a look that may very well be bold, but it still looks elegant, timeless and undeniably chic.
Which we think may just be why Megan and Harry decided that she was the ideal choice for their wedding flowers.
We are sure that the popularity of Philippa’s creations is just going to grow and grow over time. After showcasing her skills to the world at the recent Royal Wedding, there are likely to be queues of people who want her to add her very own special touch of magic to their special day.
