Olivia Djibo

Not every bride wants to have a big church wedding. Some brides want a small ceremony in the middle of nowhere. Not every bride wants a big white dress. Some brides want to wear a stunning black dress. If you are a bride with unique taste, or just one who wants her personality to come through on the big day, we suggest checking out these 5 wedding blogs.

Rustic Wedding Chic

While rustic weddings are a big trend right now, it's not for everyone. Here at Souris Rose, we design a lot of Texas Elegant weddings in Houston and we love the rustic wedding trend!

Maggie Lord is the founder of Rustic Wedding Chic and is a highly consulted wedding designer. She started Rustic Wedding Chic when she was planning her own lakeside wedding. Since then, Lord has gone on to write six books and makes TV and radio appearances to talk about wedding design, planning tools and tips, and wedding trend reports.

Rustic Wedding Chic offers brides looking for a country-inspired wedding with vendor recommendations, decor ideas, and even budgeting tips.

Offbeat Bride

Offbeat Bride is run by a team of editors, headed by Ariel Meadow Stallings. Stallings initially started the blog to promote her book, but it grew into a community for couples who are planning "weddings full of intention and personality."

One of the biggest aspects of the Offbeat Bride is featuring real, offbeat weddings. Offbeat Bride highlights real weddings almost daily to help inspire other brides who are on the same journey. When they aren't showing off beautiful weddings, they offer their readers wedding advice.

Overall, the Offbeat Bride wants to be the most inclusive and diverse wedding blog. They aim to feature couples that don't see a lot of representation on traditional wedding blogs and magazines.

However, they want everyone's wedding to be a representation of the couple. According to the Offbeat Bride website, "We support couples all along the nontraditional spectrum, from beautiful hardcore freaks & geeks all the way to what we affectionately call "Offbeat Lite." Your wedding should be a reflection of YOU, not other people's tastes — and that includes ours!"

Catalyst Wedding Co.

Liz Susong and Carly Romeo started The Catalyst Wedding Co. They had a vision to infuse more diversity into the wedding industry. They started with feminist ideals and have grown to include the LGBTQ community and all "woke folk."

The Catalyst Wedding Co. has expanded and covers all aspects of spending a life with the person you love. They focus on love, marriage and sex. According to their website, "We seek to empower our community of readers and business owners to bring race, gender, sexuality, class, bodies, and more into the conversation."

Like many wedding websites, the Catalyst Wedding Co. offers vendor partners for their readers. They offer suggestions for food, attire, event planners and more.

Burnett’s Boards

If you're a bride with a tropical side, Burnett's Boards is for you. Inspired by founder Sara's travels and her home in the Caribbean, you'll find an island flair throughout the website.

Sara and her team post wedding inspiration boards, styled shoots, bridal fashion, honeymoon & romance travel features, event design, event styling articles, and more on the blog.

What sets Burnett's boards apart from other wedding blogs is that Sara documents her travels and provides suggestions and reviews for honeymoon destinations. She loves to travel with the love of her life and bring those travels back to her readers.

The Overwhelmed Bride

The Overwhelmed Bride is possibly the only resource on this list that speaks to all brides. It isn't dedicated to a bride's personal style but aims to help brides from every walk of life plan a stress-free wedding. It doesn't matter if you're planning a luxury wedding or a backyard wedding, the Overwhelmed Bride will help you get through the process with your sanity in tact!

Jenn Hallack, the owner and editor of The Overwhelmed Bride, started off in the industry working directly with brides. She helped brides find venues that would fit their style and budget. This experience led her to start The Overwhelmed Bride, where she helps brides actually enjoy the wedding planning process.

Hallack wants to keep marriage the focus of the planning process, so The Overwhelmed Bride also includes date night ideas, recipes, marriage advice and health & fitness articles.

Each of these blogs focuses on different types of brides, but the main goal of all of these style blogs is to include as many women, and men, in the wedding industry as they can. Weddings are celebrations of the couple and traditional or untraditional brides should be able to throw a gorgeous wedding that represents who they are.
